NBU Predicts International Reserves Grow Up To USD 17.2 Billion By 2017 If Receive Next IMF Tranche

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) predicts that international reserves will grow up to USD 17.2 billion at end-2016 provided for receipt of the next tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

NBU Governor Valeriya Hontareva announced this in a video address to the Ukrainian Financial Forum participants, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In early September, the international reserves grew up to USD 14 billion, she recalled.

This year, the Governor added, the Ukrainian economy is demonstrating signs of growth and the forecast of GDP growth of 1.1% in 2016 and 3% in 2017 remains up-to-date.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the NBU international reserves increased in August by 0.15% or USD 21 million to USD 14.103 billion as of September 1.

The central bank expects the reserves to grow up to USD 15.5 billion at end-September.
