Ukraine Expects Consultations With Russia In October On Terrorist Financing Convention

Ukraine expects consultations with Russia in October on creation of the arbitration tribunal and interpretation of the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Olena Zerkal announced this in an interview with the Fifth Channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

She added that Ukraine also seeks trial of Russia at the International Court of Justice over violation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine on Wednesday informed the Russian Federation on Wednesday about the arbitration following violation of its obligations within the framework of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said Ukraine intended to file an appeal against Russia for violation of its obligations within the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea before September 19.

Ukraine intends to use in 2016 the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and the Convention on the Law of the Sea to sue Russia for the annexation of the Crimea.

Bilateral consultations with an opponent are required by the procedure for consideration of a case at the international court.
