Ukrainians increase their gold purchases by 12% to 21.3 kg in June

In June, Ukrainians bought 21.27 kg of gold (equivalent to USD 2.9 million), which is 12% more than in May.

This is according to data from the National Bank, as reported by the Ukrainian News agency.

In June, the population purchased 684 troy ounces of gold (equivalent to USD 2.907 million).

During the reporting period, the public also purchased 1,136 troy ounces of silver (equivalent to USD 76,000), which is nearly 30% more than in the previous month.

In January, banks sold 849 troy ounces of gold to the public (worth USD 3.976 million), in February—609 troy ounces worth USD 3.061 million, in March—918 troy ounces worth USD 4.496 million, in April—617 troy ounces of gold worth USD 2.909 million, and in May—609 troy ounces of gold worth USD 2.795 million.

One troy ounce (oz) weighs 31.1034768 grams.

In 2025, the population purchased more than 463 kg of gold (14,890 troy ounces).

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, effective January 2, 2026, the National Bank removed the Bulgarian lev from the list of foreign currencies for which an official hryvnia exchange rate is set.
