During July, russian forces fired more ballistic missiles at Ukraine than russia reportedly produces in a month. The enemy is using its stockpiles to attack with ballistic missiles that have a higher hit rate.

This was reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The analysts cite data from the Ukrainian media outlet Militarny, according to which, in July 2026 alone, russia spent up to two-thirds of its planned annual production of Zircon missiles, and also fired more ballistic missiles than its total monthly production volume, which is reported.

Reports from the Ukrainian Air Force for July indicate that in July, russia fired 107 ballistic missiles and 20 Zircon missiles at Ukraine.

The media also cites undisclosed reports from the Ukrainian military intelligence, according to which russia produces about 60 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 40 missiles for the S-400 complex every month.

"It seems that russia is using its reserves to continue to increase the number of ballistic missiles it launches against Ukraine, since these missiles have a higher hit rate than drones and cruise missiles," the analysts note.

It is indicated that at the same time, the Russian forces have reduced the number of drones they launch during each night attack: in July 2026, 2,955 were launched, compared to 5,749 in June 2026.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, during the evening and night of July 19, russian forces launched 41 missiles and 125 drones over Ukraine.
