Ex-Economy Minister Sobolev to join economic work in President's Office - Zelenskyy

Former Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Oleksii Sobolev will join the economic work in the Office of the President.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on social networks, Ukrainian News Agency Agency reports.

"Oleksii Sobolev will join the economic work in the Office of the President. Together with Kyrylo Budanov, we have identified the necessary tasks. The key is to support Ukrainian producers at all levels of state power and fully and as promptly as possible to implement agreements with partners," the head of state emphasized.

Zelenskyy added that Oleksii's experience allows him to participate in shaping economic policy and effectively interact with the government and parliamentarians.

The President called constant communication between state institutions and business a separate area of ​​work.

Oleksii Sobolev is a Ukrainian economist and financier. Born in 1983. Graduated from Kyiv National Economic University, received a master's degree in finance. In 2015–2016, he was an advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure, where he was responsible for open data, transparency and corporate governance of state-owned enterprises.

In 2016–2018, he managed the Prozorro.Sale project at Transparency International Ukraine, and since 2018, he has headed the state-owned enterprise Prozorro.Sales.

In January 2023, Sobolev was appointed Deputy Minister of Economy for Digitalization, in July 2024 - First Deputy Minister, and on July 17, 2025 - Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
