Expects "consistency". NATO Chief comments on dismissal of Ukrainian Defense Minister Fedorov
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte expects consistency from the successor to dismissed Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and noted improvements on the front line since the beginning of the year. Rutte noted that he had a "good working relationship" with Fedorov.
He told dpa on Thursday.
Rutte said he expects "consistency" because the Ukrainian military is "performing much better" on the front line than at the beginning of the year. He added that the invading army is advancing very slowly and Ukraine has been able to launch a counteroffensive in some areas.
In addition, Ukraine is also "strikes deep into russia", striking its energy infrastructure and industrial base, he added.
"I had a good working relationship with Mykhailo Fedorov," the NATO leader said. "I wish him all the best, and his successor will undoubtedly continue this course."
In addition, Rutte noted that russia is losing 25,000 to 35,000 soldiers a month: "If you are a young russian who is thinking about joining the military, you could be one of the approximately 30,000 who will die this month or next."
As a reminder, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced that he was leaving the position he had held since January of this year. Also, Serhii Sternenko and military technology specialist Serhii Beskrestnov (Flash) announced that they were no longer working as advisers to the Ukrainian Defense Minister. In addition, the report was submitted by the Deputy Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Pavlo Yelizarov.
The media found out that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to dismiss Fedorov due to uncoordinated purchases and differences of opinion with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Fedorov himself stated that he had suggested to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to replace Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov. In his opinion, the personnel changes were necessary in order to switch to a different strategy of warfare and inflict asymmetric strikes on russia with fewer losses.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, it became known that Andrii Yermak visited the command post of Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi in one of the front-line regions on the evening of July 16.
And the military command tried to find out in which unit Dmytro Koziatynskyi serves after the veteran called on Ukrainians to take to the streets to protest the decision to dismiss Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of Defense Minister. It should be noted that the protests have been taking place in various cities of Ukraine for the second day.
