Polish fighter jets intercepted two russian Su-30SM2 aircraft over the Baltic Sea that were conducting "aggressive surveillance" of the exercises.

Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, has reported this.

“Russians once again conducted aggressive surveillance over the Baltic Sea of our air defense system integration exercises,” he explained.

According to the minister, for this reason, a pair of Polish aircraft was scrambled from Malbork, which intercepted a pair of Su-30SM2s from Kaliningrad. It is noted that the russian aircraft did not approach Polish airspace.

A pair of Swedish fighter jets was also operating over the Baltic Sea, escorting the intercepted russian aircraft.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in July, a pair of British F-35 fighter jets intercepted a russian “Bear-F” patrol aircraft that was performing “dangerous and unprofessional” maneuvers near a British aircraft carrier.
