Defense Ministry allows use of more than 400 types of drones in AFU since beginning of 2026
Since the beginning of 2026, the Ministry of Defense has codified and allowed the use of 413 types of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), almost all of them of Ukrainian production.
This was announced by the Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that currently more than 30% more unmanned aerial systems have been codified than in the same period in 2025, and more than 73% more than in the same period in 2024.
The list of those codified since the beginning of 2026 includes:
- aerial reconnaissance aircraft of aerostat, aircraft and copter types;
- strike drones of aircraft and copter types;
- FPV;
- UAV bombers;
- interceptor drones;
- repeater drones;
- target drones;
- fiber optic UAVs;
- front-strike;
- deep-strike.
Among the most codified copter-type strike drones and fiber optic UAVs, the number of front-strike strike drones has also significantly increased.
In particular, the arsenal of the air warriors of the Defense Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of 2026 has been replenished with the Ukrainian Galka, Skyriper Minotaur, Gor Elks, Beshket, Shturm, Bababoom, Zorro.
Also codified are the new UAVs Blinc, Optoslon, Chumak, Sokil, Hydra, Kruk, Dzyha, Kharyok, Buran, Bilyi Vovk, Sichen.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in June, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced that the Ministry of Defense is introducing guaranteed monthly support for UAV units.
