Zelenskyy offers Prime Minister Svyrydenko new position. There will be other personnel changes as well

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is changing its political strategy. That is why he proposed that the current Prime Minister, Yuliia Svyrydenko, lead a new direction in relations with a key partner. The head of state wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

What is known about the new strategy?

“Each priority area of foreign policy will be overseen by a specific individual with significant experience, someone capable of implementing what we agree upon at the leadership level and what the Ukrainian people expect,” Zelenskyy said.

Among these areas are:

• The United States and agreements on licenses for the production of “Patriot” systems and other bilateral security cooperation;
• the European anti-ballistic missile project, “which could be one of the biggest steps toward strengthening Europe this decade”;
• Ukraine’s EU membership and the deepening of all ties—economic, political, and cultural;
• Ukraine’s neighboring countries, with which relations require a new foundation—this applies particularly to Poland and Hungary;
• the Middle East and Gulf region as one of the most promising global areas for security and economic cooperation;
• China;
• key international organizations that influence global decisions and can do more to help end russia’s war against Ukraine.

“The same applies to our domestic efforts. We now face new challenges and new tasks. All efforts in Ukraine’s frontline and border regions, which face Russian attacks daily, need to be significantly stepped up. I am counting on an increase in the supply of necessary weapons to our army, including all types of drones,” the President said.

Another important area is preparing for winter and Ukraine’s agreements with partners on reconstruction.

“Accordingly, personnel changes will begin in Ukraine to ensure the implementation of the updated political strategy. We discussed the details with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko. We determined that these changes require a reshuffle of the Cabinet of Ministers. I am grateful to Yuliia for her clear, steady, and effective work as Prime Minister, for her years of productive work on Ukraine’s team, and I have offered her the opportunity to lead a new, significant initiative in relations with a key partner. I expect that, together with members of parliament, we will carry out the necessary replacements in the Ukrainian government. There will also be changes in the leadership of law enforcement agencies,” Zelenskyy added.
