Operational Command North confirms reports that 155th Mechanized Brigade commander Luchanov is wanted
The Operational Command North has confirmed media reports that Stanislav Luchanov, the commander of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade (Military Unit A5001), is wanted. He has currently left his post without authorization.
The Operational Command North has reported this on Facebook.
“Information is circulating online regarding events involving servicemen from Military Unit A5001. Regarding the current situation, we would like to report the following: Law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation into the incident,” the statement reads.
It is noted that the whereabouts of the commander of Military Unit A5001, who left his post without authorization, are currently being determined.
In addition, the Operational Command North reported that the individuals involved in the investigation have been suspended from their duties and are cooperating with investigators.
The Operational Command North itself is providing support to law enforcement and promoting transparency in the investigation.
It is noted that details that can be disclosed without compromising the investigation will be made public by law enforcement agencies.
As a reminder, Ukrainian media previously reported, citing a source, that the commander of the 155th Mechanized Brigade, Stanislav Luchanov, is wanted after nine soldiers from the brigade were detained on suspicion of kidnapping two civilian men from the Kyiv Region.
