Russia used shrapnel round during its attack on Kyiv - Darnytskyi District State Administration

In the Darnytskyi District of Kyiv, cleanup efforts are underway following a nighttime russian attack involving ballistic missiles. The enemy used a warhead filled with shrapnel in the strike.

Oleksandr Kovtunov, the head of the Darnytskyi District State Administration, has stated this.

“I want to say that the strike was very dangerous. The warhead was filled with shrapnel. We were lucky that no one was near the windows or on the street, because otherwise we would have had injuries or, God forbid, fatalities,” he said.

The report notes that the shrapnel damaged cars and houses.

According to him, traffic has now resumed, and work is underway to repair the asphalt and fill the crater.

Aid is also being provided, a command center is operational, windows are being boarded up, and the area is being cleaned up.

As a reminder, russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles on the night of July 11. Fires broke out in several districts of the capital, damaging residential and non-residential buildings, a railway locomotive, and energy infrastructure facilities.

In the Darnytskyi District, the blast wave shattered windows in a residential building. In addition, a transformer substation and an electrical control panel that regulates traffic lights caught fire. A russian missile also damaged the roadway.

The number of casualties in the city due to the russian nighttime shelling has risen to 12.
