Russia launches ballistic missiles at Kyiv: 10 people injured, buildings and locomotive damaged

On the night of July 10–11, russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles. Ten people were injured in the strike, including an 11-year-old boy. Fires broke out in several districts of the capital, damaging residential and non-residential buildings, a railway locomotive, and energy infrastructure facilities.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko, and the State Emergency Service reported on the consequences of the attack.

What damage was caused by the ballistic attack?

In the Dniprovskyi District, a non-residential area caught fire following the russian strike. Non-residential buildings were also damaged in the Dniprovskyi and Sviatoshynskyi Districts.

In the Darnytskyi District, the blast wave shattered windows in a residential building. In addition, a transformer substation and an electrical control panel that regulates traffic lights caught fire. A russian missile also damaged the roadway.

In the Solomianskyi District, a fire broke out in a three-story office building. At another location, the blast wave damaged a railway locomotive.

What is known about the victims?

Initially, city authorities reported eight casualties. Later, the State Emergency Service clarified that the number of injured had risen to 10 people.

Four of the injured are in city hospitals. The rest received medical attention at the scene. Among the injured is an 11-year-old boy.

As a reminder, during the massive shelling of the capital on the night of July 2, russian forces fired a record number of ballistic missiles—28 in total.
