Flamingo missiles likely hit military plant in Volgograd, russia - social media and officials
On the night of June 27, publics spread information about the alleged arrivals of missiles in Volgograd, russia, in particular on a military plant, which were later confirmed by the russian authorities.
This was reported by the russian Telegram channel Astra, the Exilenova+, Supernova+ publics, and the governor of the Volgograd Oblast of the russian federation, Andrey Bocharov.
In the post, Astra noted that "eyewitnesses are publishing footage of a fire in Volgograd during a night attack from Ukraine."
A missile alert was declared in the Volgograd Oblast of the russian federation. Rosaviatsia reported on restrictions on the operation of the Volgograd airport.
Other publics reported that "a defense plant was hit." Presumably, this refers to JSC "FNVC "Titan-Barricades". This is one of the key factories of the russian military-industrial complex in Volgograd.
The enterprise produces launchers, artillery systems and components for missile systems, in particular "Iskander-M", "Yars" and "Topol-M". After 2022, it is under international sanctions due to the production of weapons for the russian army.
At the same time, the co-founder and chief designer of the defense company Fire Point Denys Shtilerman also published a video of the explosions in Volgograd.
"Volgograd is welcoming the seasonal migration of flamingos from Ukraine. More to come...", the missile builder said.
Later, Astra noted that according to its OSINT analysis, smoke was rising over the territory of the Titan-Barricades military plant after the Ukrainian attack on Volgograd with Flamingo missiles.
"The plant, in particular, produces launchers for russian strategic missile systems," Astra added.
On Saturday morning, Bocharov confirmed the attack on Volgograd, in particular on "production facilities of one of the enterprises in the Krasnooktyabrsky district."
According to him, "local fires were promptly eliminated." Bocharov also announced 10 victims.
