Drones attack Azot chemical plant in Tula Oblast of russia

On the night of June 25–26 in Novomoskovsk, Tula Oblast, russian federation, explosions were heard for several hours, and drones were seen flying overhead. Telegram channels reported that the Azot chemical plant was under attack.

The region’s governor, Dmitry Milyaev, claims that a power line was damaged along with the Azot plant. Emergency services are on the scene.

A private residential building was also damaged in the Shchekinsky District. According to him, a woman was injured and received medical attention.

Telegram channels reported a smell of ammonia in the air and power outages in the city.

The Azot plant in Novomoskovsk is one of the largest chemical plants in the russian federation. The plant produces ammonia, nitric acid, methanol, mineral fertilizers, and other chemical raw materials used, in particular, for the production of explosives and ammunition.

As a reminder, on June 27, a fire broke out at a local oil depot in the village of Poltavskaya, Krasnodar Krai, russia, as a result of a drone attack. According to reports from monitoring channels and eyewitnesses, the fire engulfed three storage tanks, some of which were filled with fuel. Footage showing a massive blaze and thick smoke rising above the facility is circulating online.
