Smilianskyi will file lawsuit against NBU for declaring him unfit for work and demanding his dismissal from position of head of Ukrposhta
General Director of joint stock company Ukrposhta Ihor Smilianskyi will file a lawsuit against the National Bank for declaring him unfit for work and demanding his dismissal from the position of the director general.
He announced this on his Facebook page, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Our legal team will study the documents and make decisions on further actions. Including, we will involve external lawyers to protect the interests of the company and me as its head. In the end, I am sure, it will be like with parcels - payment by the recipient. That is, the NBU and personally A.H. Pyshnyi will pay for everything," Smilianskyi wrote.
According to him, a shareholder or supervisory board of Ukrposhta under any circumstances have the right to appoint and dismiss a head - with or without a decision of the NBU.
The change of the head and its influence are also stipulated in international agreements, including credit agreements worth tens of millions of euros with the EBRD.
Smilyansky called the "strikes from the NBU" no less insidious than the strikes of the occupiers, and compared the financial regulator to a neighboring enemy country.
"Do I consider this decision to be balanced? Of course not. To put it in my language, this is complete crap and, importantly, the use of the position to settle personal scores. Accordingly, I have made a decision for myself to "catch up" with both the executors of this decision and its customers - both in Ukrainian and, given my international career, in international courts for intentional damage to reputation. And I assure you: during the investigations, the executors will 100% name the name of the person who gave this order. And I will do everything to make him fully answer for this decision. He has enough assets," the director general of Ukrposhta emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Bank has decided that the director general of Ukrposhta joint stock company, Ihor Smilianskyi, does not meet the professional suitability requirements established for the head of a financial payment services provider.
