US President Donald Trump said the Strait of Hormuz remains fully open to shipping, and oil flows through it have reached record levels.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, the American leader said the situation around one of the world's most important oil routes remains stable.

"We're doing great. More oil came through it yesterday than ever before. You can probably see we have a real oil fountain. The strait is completely open," Trump said.

According to the US President, Washington continues to negotiate and monitor developments.

"We are negotiating, we will see how it all ends," he added.

Trump also reiterated his position on Iran, emphasizing that Tehran will not be able to obtain nuclear weapons.

"Now there is a country that will never obtain nuclear weapons," the head of the White House said, referring to Iran.

The statement was made after the first round of negotiations between the US and Iran, which took place on June 22 in Switzerland. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to begin work on a final peace agreement, create a coordination center for conflict resolution and continue technical consultations. The negotiators were given 60 days to prepare the final document.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Bloomberg reported that tankers with approximately 8 million barrels of oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz last weekend, despite Iran's statement about its closure.

Iran has also resumed oil shipments from the terminal on Kharq Island, while other shipowners are cautiously sending their vessels through the strait due to uncertainty in negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
