Factory in Voronezh that manufactures electronics for russian missiles hit - General Staff
In Voronezh, russia, a factory producing electronics for russian Iskander and Kh-101 missiles was struck by missiles. It was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on its Telegram channel, according to the Ukrainian News agency.
"Today, June 22, units of the Ukrainian Air Forces struck a facility producing components for Russian missiles in the city of Voronezh (russian federation). High-precision air-launched cruise missiles were used in the strikes," the statement reads.
It is noted that this facility is a critically important element of the russian military-industrial complex; it manufactures electronics used in russian missiles, in particular for the Iskander tactical missile system.
Additionally, as part of this cooperation, the plant manufactures and supplies electronic components for russian missile weapons and air defense systems. Specifically:
transistor assemblies and matrices for Kh-101 cruise missile units;
semiconductor matrices for the Zarya-61M onboard digital computing units (BCOM) in the 9M727 cruise missiles of the Iskander-K tactical missile system;
diodes and transistor assemblies for the television channels of the Pantsir-S1 air defense systems.
The General Staff notes that the products of this plant are directly used by the enemy to manufacture high-precision guided weapons, with which russian occupiers are striking Ukrainian territory and killing civilians; and the destruction of the facility’s capabilities will significantly impair russia’s ability to produce new missiles.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the General Staff also announced that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had struck a space communications center in the moscow oblast.
