NBU increases its foreign currency sales on interbank market last week to record USD 1.4 billion
The National Bank increased its net foreign currency sales on the interbank foreign exchange market from June 15 to 19 by 21% compared to the previous week, to USD 1,396.22 million, which is the highest volume since the beginning of this year.
This is according to data from the NBU, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
During the reporting week, the National Bank did not purchase any dollars, while it sold USD 1,396.22 million.
Since the beginning of the year, the NBU has not purchased any dollars, while it has sold USD 21,385.12.
In 2025, the National Bank purchased USD 42.15 million, while selling USD 36,103.47 million.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2024, the NBU purchased USD 126.28 million on the interbank market and sold USD 35,312.64 million.
In 2023, the NBU purchased USD 219.85 million on the interbank market and sold USD 28,829.73 million.
The NBU did not buy or sell any euros in 2023.
In 2022, the National Bank purchased USD 3,267.95 million and EUR 110.97 million on the interbank market, while selling USD 26,380.59 million and EUR 1,789.11 million.
Analysts at ICU have revised their year-end hryvnia exchange rate forecast downward from 45 UAH/USD to 45.8 UAH/USD.
The budget declaration for 2027–2029 projects inflation of 8.9% with a hryvnia exchange rate of 48.3 UAH/USD by the end of 2027, assuming the war ends.
