Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk spoke out against Ukrainians renouncing the orders that Poland, as a state, had awarded them for their merits.

The politician wrote about this on his official Facebook page.

"We cannot correct one harmful and wrong decision by the current President of Poland with other wrong decisions on our part. A crisis is always an opportunity. If things continue this way, Moscow and radical forces in Europe will take advantage of such a crisis,” the former head of the Ukrainian government believes.

He is convinced that the President of Ukraine should travel to Gdańsk and deliver a speech there that echoes the words of John Paul II. There, he should propose a broad and joint dialogue at both the central government and community levels. He should bring not only historians, but also artists, entrepreneurs, and journalists.

“To say that we understand the historical pain of our peoples, and that the best way to overcome the discord of the past is to unite for the sake of the future. Invite the Polish intelligentsia, business leaders, artists, and influential figures from both sides of the political spectrum to such a dialogue,” Yatsenyuk noted.

At the same time, he emphasized that this should not be a spontaneous statement, but a well-prepared project conducted behind closed doors.

“We must keep a cool head. The fate of Ukraine, Poland, and Europe is at stake,” Arseniy Yatsenyuk concluded in his social media post.
