Ukraine and Germany agree to develop ballistic defense systems and jointly produce missile defense systems – President's Office
Ukraine and Germany have agreed to develop anti-ballistic systems and jointly produce ground-based robotic systems. The Office of the President announced this on its Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
In particular, it was reported that in Brussels, in the presence of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, the defense ministers of Ukraine and Germany signed implementation agreements on the development of anti-ballistic capabilities and the joint production of ground-based robotic systems “Termit” in Germany.
It is noted that thanks to the agreement, Ukraine will strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure against russian missile strikes, and Europe will be able to draw on Ukrainian experience to build its own anti-ballistic capabilities.
Specifically, the agreement provides for the production and delivery of thousands of “Termit” ground-based robotic systems to Ukrainian defenders; Germany will finance the production of the systems.
In turn, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced on his Telegram channel that at Ramstein, he and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius had signed an agreement on the development of an anti-ballistic program, which involves Ukrainian and German companies collaborating on the development and production of modern interceptor missiles.
In addition, they signed an agreement on the joint production of Ukrainian “Termit” ground-based robotic systems in Germany. As part of the project, several thousand anti-ballistic missiles will be produced for the Defense Forces at Germany’s expense.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov previously confirmed that Ukraine is working on developing its own ballistic missile capable of striking targets on russian territory.
