The Ukrainian Navy has officially denied reports of an alleged attack by russian unmanned boats on Odesa, which had been circulating in the media and on social media the previous evening. In fact, the sounds of explosions were related to Ukrainian military training exercises. It was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Navy.

“Yesterday, inaccurate information circulated in the media about an alleged ‘bombing of Odesa by naval drones.’ We would like to clarify that this information is not true,” the Navy command stated on Thursday morning.

As explained by the agency, on the evening of June 17, units of the Ukrainian Navy were conducting scheduled training exercises. The main purpose of these maneuvers was to practice tactics and prepare forces to effectively repel potential real-world attacks by russian occupiers using maritime drones. These actions were intended solely to enhance combat readiness and the ability to respond to potential threats in the waters.

At the same time, the Navy emphasized that the threat from the russian fleet remains high, so military sailors continue to work around the clock to ensure the region’s security and are ready to respond promptly to any enemy aggression.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Navy also noted that the russians are fortifying certain areas of Crimea out of fear of a Ukrainian amphibious landing.
