Air defense forces neutralize 4 ballistic missiles and 212 UAVs during night attack by russia, hits at 9 locations

On the night of Thursday, June 18, russian troops launched 7 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles and 239 strike drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to neutralize 216 targets: 4 missiles and 212 drones.

The press service of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has stated this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that on the night of June 18 (from 6 p.m. on June 17), the enemy attacked Ukraine with 7 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh, Bryansk and Kursk Oblasts of the russian federation, 239 Shahed attack UAVs (including jet-powered ones), Gerbera, Italmas and Parodiya simulator drones from the following directions: Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (all - russian federation), as well as from occupied Donetsk and Crimea.

"According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m., air defense systems shot down/suppressed 216 targets - 4 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles and 212 enemy Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas UAVs and drones of other types in the north, south and east of the country," the report says.

Two ballistic missiles and 26 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 9 locations, as well as falling debris at 7 locations.

Information on another ballistic missile is being clarified.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of June 17, the russians launched 119 strike drones over Ukraine, and air defense forces shot down 97 of them.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov confirmed that Ukraine is working on developing its own ballistic missile capable of striking targets on russian territory.
