Ukraine seeks USD 20 billion for long-range weapons against russia - Politico
Ukraine is seeking an additional USD 20 billion from international partners to finance long-range strikes on russian territory and maintain the initiative in the air. This is reported by Politico, citing its own sources in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
This request is planned to be officially announced on June 18 during the next meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine. According to preliminary data, the Ukrainian side will offer each of the donor countries to allocate from USD 2 to USD 6 billion in the form of direct assistance or long-term loans.
These funds are planned to be used to strengthen air defense, purchase drones, electronic warfare equipment, and finance direct contracts with Ukrainian defense enterprises.
As noted by the Ministry of Defense, attracting funding is critically important right now, since the window of opportunity for destroying russian logistics is limited, and Moscow is quickly adapting to the new conditions of warfare. The issue of further defense support for Ukraine will also be one of the main topics of the July NATO summit in Ankara.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy confirmed the strikes with Flamingo missiles on a plant in Cheboksary and three facilities of the russian oil industry.
In the russian city of Cheboksary, a thousand kilometers from the border with Ukraine, a fire broke out at the strategic enterprise VNIIR-Progress after a missile strike. In addition, other regions of the russian federation were also under large-scale attack that same night.
Thus, in Samara, russia, on the night of June 10, a fire broke out at the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery after reports of a drone attack.
