Rada increases minimum salary of police officers to UAH 33,000 per month

The Verkhovna Rada has set the minimum cash allowance for police officers and civil defense service employees at the level of no less than 10 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, as of today it is UAH 33,280 per month.

A total of 269 MPs voted for the relevant bill on modernizing the cash allowance of police officers No. 6506-1, with a minimum of 226 votes, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The bill also proposes a new system of components of cash allowance:

- official salary;

- additional payment for a special rank;

- seniority bonus (from 5% to 50%);

- additional payments for access to state secrets, an academic degree or academic title;

- bonuses up to 30% of the official salary.

According to the calculations of the relevant committee of the Council on Law Enforcement Activities, as a result of the introduction of the above-mentioned norm, the minimum level of cash security will be increased from UAH 17,000 to UAH 33,000 and the average level from UAH 21,000 to UAH 45,000.

The application of the new conditions for calculating cash security is planned from January 1, 2027.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada also made changes to the state budget for 2026, in particular, increased spending on security and defense by UAH 1.56 trillion.
