Deposits of population in banks up 2.8% to record-breaking UAH 1.48 trillion in April

In April, the amount of funds placed by individuals in bank accounts in hryvnia and foreign currency, according to operational data, increased by 2.8% to UAH 1,479.372 billion.

This is evidenced by data from the National Bank, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Since the beginning of the year, the amount of deposits of the population in banks has increased by 5.8% from UAH 1,398.536 billion.

Hryvnia deposits of the population in banks during the reporting period increased by 3.3% to UAH 986.678 billion.

At the same time, the amount of foreign currency deposits of the population in hryvnia equivalent in the reporting month increased by 1.8% to UAH 492.694 billion.

Deposits of legal entities (hryvnia and foreign currency) increased by 2.4% to UAH 1,683.381 billion during the reporting period.

The average interest rate on hryvnia deposits (monthly average) in the reporting month for legal entities increased by 0.1 pp to 9.9%, and for individuals increased by 0.3 pp to 10.5%.

The rate on foreign currency deposits for legal entities was 0.6%, for individuals - 0.8%.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2025, the volume of population deposits in banks increased by 15.4% from UAH 1,212.775 billion.

In 2024, the volume of population deposits in banks increased by 12.6% from UAH 1,078.346 billion.

In 2023, the volume of population deposits in banks increased by 16.5% from UAH 926.488 billion.
