Russia struck Kharkiv twice with Shaheds at night, there is destruction and casualties
On the night of May 19, russian occupation forces carried out a massive attack with strike UAVs on Kharkiv, targeting the Kholodnohirskyi and Novobavarskyi districts of the city. The enemy deliberately struck civilian infrastructure and residential areas. The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov and the city mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on the consequences of another war crime of the russian federation.
Russian drones attacked the city in several waves. During the first wave, a hit on a civilian infrastructure facility was recorded in the Novobavarskyi district, where a large-scale fire broke out. Residential buildings in the Kholodnohirskyi district were also damaged. At around five in the morning, the occupiers carried out a second strike on the Novobavarskyi district, as a result of which two private houses were set on fire, and the total number of damaged buildings rapidly increased. During the liquidation of the consequences, the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, noted that a person could be under the rubble.
Later, the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, published summarized data on the consequences of the enemy strikes. According to him, three people were wounded and injured to varying degrees in the Novobavarskyi district. In addition, the attack led to significant destruction of the housing stock: twenty-five private houses and one high-rise building were damaged in the city.
Rescuers from the State Emergency Service, doctors and municipal services continue to work continuously at the sites of the hits, extinguishing fires, clearing rubble and providing assistance to residents. Information on the final consequences of the shelling is still being clarified.
