Slovakia becomes one of the largest producers of shells in NATO and will increase supplies to Ukraine
Slovakia has secured the status of one of the key producers of ammunition in NATO, and support for the Ukrainian army from the Slovak military-industrial complex will only scale up, the country has already established the supply of shells to Kyiv "in millions of volumes". This was stated by the country's President Peter Pellegrini, TERAZ.SK reports.
"The volume of militarized supplies to Kyiv will only grow in the future," the leader of the state emphasized.
He also added that today the defense sector has become a real locomotive of the economy, generating almost 3% of the country's GDP. According to him, Bratislava is not limited to artillery: the development and production of specialized interceptor drones is underway at local aircraft repair plants.
Pellegrini also drew attention to the Alliance's global problem - a critical shortage of production lines, which cannot be covered with money alone. Against this background, he highlighted the success of Slovakia, which was able to quickly increase commercial exports.
"Slovakia has already become one of the largest producers of shells in NATO," the President summed up.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in the meantime, Czech Prime Minister Babis is ready to continue the "Czech projectile initiative", but only at the expense of other countries.
