Google introduces fitness bracelet without screen

Fitbit Air

Google has officially introduced a screenless fitness bracelet Fitbit Air, which costs USD 100. This is reported by Engadget.

Google describes the gadget as having a "reliable micro-adjustable fit", thanks to which it is almost imperceptible during work, training or sleep. Fitbit Air weighs 12 grams with a strap and only 5.2 grams without it.

Since the bracelet does not have a screen and buttons, it works mainly in the background - it simply collects data on the user's activity and health. The device monitors heart rate 24 hours a day, analyzes sleep phases and generates a sleep quality assessment (Sleep Score) every night. Fitbit Air is also able to detect signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib), report irregular heartbeats, and analyze heart rate variability (HRV).

The gadget automatically recognizes physical activity without the need to manually start workouts from a smartphone. Fitbit Air supports automatic tracking of running, walking, cycling, rowing, elliptical training, and other intense exercises. Through the application, users can also manually start more than 40 types of workouts - from yoga and dance to kickboxing and aerobics.

In addition to standard indicators such as the number of steps, distance, and activity time, the bracelet analyzes cardio load and the body's level of readiness for training. Thanks to the built-in vibration motor, the device can quietly wake the user, and the Smart Wake function determines the best moment to wake up according to sleep cycles.

The company paid special attention to artificial intelligence functions. The central part of the ecosystem is Google Health Coach, an AI assistant based on Gemini that analyzes user data and creates personalized recommendations for training and health. The service is able to adapt physical activity plans according to the schedule, progress and physical condition of a person.

Autonomy is up to one week of work without recharging. In five minutes of charging, the bracelet can provide up to one day of work, and a full charging cycle takes about 90 minutes.

Recall that earlier Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi Tag beacon, a budget analogue of Apple's AirTag.
