Imports of goods to Ukraine significantly exceed exports in January-April
In January–April 2026, Ukraine imported goods worth USD 32.2 billion and exported goods worth USD 13.9 billion.
It was reported by the State Customs Service, according to the Ukrainian News agency.
Taxed imports amounted to USD 22.3 billion, accounting for 69% of the total volume of imported goods.
Among the leading countries that imported goods to Ukraine were: China — USD 8.7 billion, Poland — USD 3.1 billion, and Turkey — USD 2.2 billion.
Of the total volume of goods imported in January–April 2026, 72% consisted of the following categories:
- machinery, equipment, and transportation — USD 13.3 billion;
- fuel and energy products – USD 5.3 billion;
- chemical industry products – USD 4.6 billion.
The largest exports from Ukraine went to Poland — USD 1.5 billion, Turkey — USD 1.2 billion, and Italy — USD 857 million.
The top three goods exported from Ukraine were:
- food products - USD 8.5 billion;
- metals and metal products - USD 1.3 billion;
- machinery, equipment, and transportation — USD 1.2 billion.
The report states that in January–April 2026, during customs clearance of exports subject to export duties, UAH 585.9 million was paid to the budget.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in January-February 2026, Ukraine imported goods worth USD 14.8 billion and exported goods worth USD 6.5 billion.
In 2025, Ukraine imported goods worth USD 84.8 billion and exported goods worth USD 40.3 billion.
