Armenia not russia's ally in Ukraine - Pashinyan
Armenia is not an ally of russia, the aggressor country against Ukraine, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated. His remarks were reported by the Armenpress publication on Thursday, May 7.
Pashinyan noted that his position on Ukraine has not changed.
"As for the visit of the President of Ukraine, I have already made statements on this topic. We have sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine, and I have said that we are not allies of Russia on the issue of Ukraine," the Prime Minister said.
According to Pashinyan, Armenia bases its relations with other states on the Alma-Ata Declaration, which recognizes the territorial integrity and non-interference in the internal affairs of the former republics of the USSR. Furthermore, Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia is building a peace process with Azerbaijan based on this declaration.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 4, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit in Yerevan (Armenia).
