Sense Bank's Supervisory Board Chair Hladyshenko temporarily resigns for period of investigation around bank

The chairman of the supervisory board of Sense Bank has temporarily stepped down while the circumstances surrounding the bank are being investigated.

This is stated in the bank's announcement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

On May 6, 2026, Mykola Hladyshenko, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JSC "Sense Bank," submitted a request to be relieved of his duties as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JSC "Sense Bank" on his own initiative for the period necessary to clarify all circumstances related to the negative information about the bank circulating in the media.

An extraordinary meeting of the Supervisory Board was held, during which the Chairman’s official statement was accepted, and the duties of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board were assigned to Piotr Nowak.

Piotr Nowak joined the Supervisory Board of JSC "Sense Bank" in October 2025 as an independent member. Since March 2026, Piotr Nowak has served as a public advisor to Karol Nawrocki, President of the Republic of Poland. He has over 20 years of experience in the banking sector, investment management, economic policy, and corporate governance. He served as the Minister of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Poland, Deputy Minister of Finance (Deputy State Secretary), and also worked at the International Monetary Fund in Washington.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Danylo Hetmantsev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction and the chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax, and customs policy, has spoken out about a large-scale corruption scheme involving “Sense Bank.”
