Cars with traditional engines cover 58% of new passenger car market in April - UkrAutoprom
In April 2026, cars with conventional engines accounted for 58% of the new passenger car market; last year, that figure stood at 56%.
This is stated in a report by the UkrAutoprom association, according to the Ukrainian News agency.
The report states that gasoline-powered models were the most popular, accounting for 39% of new car sales, compared to about 36% in April 2025.
The share of hybrid cars increased from 29% to nearly 33%.
Diesel cars accounted for 19%, compared to 20% in April 2025.
The share of electric cars fell significantly—from 15% to 9%.
As in the previous year, cars with LPG systems accounted for less than 1% of new car sales.
The segment leaders were: gasoline cars—Hyundai Tucson; hybrids—Toyota Rav-4; diesel cars—Renault Duster; electric cars—BYD Leopard 3; and LPG-powered cars—Hyundai Tucson.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in March 2026, cars with conventional engines accounted for 64% of the new passenger car market; last year, this figure stood at 58%.
