AI and robotics can replace migrant workers in Ukraine - Podoliak
Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak spoke out against attracting migrant workers to solve the problem of labor shortage and proposed an alternative - the development of artificial intelligence and automation. He stated this on Novyny.LIVE.
According to Podoliak, no country has managed to effectively close the production deficit at the expense of migrants due to cultural differences.
"European countries have gone the way of creating non-adaptive conditions, when migrants come not just to earn money, but on the contrary - they created conditions for them under which they had greater social rights and benefits," he noted.
According to him, this has led to the formation of cultural and religious centers that believe that countries should abandon their own identity.
AI as an alternative
The President's Office advisor believes that technological progress offers another path. According to him, robotics already performs a significant part of physical work, and the automation of production processes is actively developing. However, Podoliak warned against overly simple solutions, emphasizing that any solution must be systemic, mathematically calculated and supported by programs that Europe has not yet seen.
As a theoretical scenario, Podoliak still allowed the possibility of attracting migrants, but only under the condition of a clear adaptation system.
"To say that the solution to the production problem is simply to invite migrants without explaining how they will be adapted to our conditions is, in my opinion, the wrong path," he emphasized.
As previously reported, the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk is against bringing migrant workers to Ukraine.
