Iran hands over to Pakistan new version of proposal for negotiations with US - media
Iran has handed over to Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator in the Iranian-American negotiations, the text of a new proposal aimed at ending the war. The Iranian news agency IRNA reported this on Friday, May 1.
According to the agency, the text of the latest Iranian proposal for negotiations was handed over to representatives of Pakistan last Thursday, April 30.
IRNA recalls that hostilities between the US and Iran were suspended on April 7 for two weeks in order to find a diplomatic solution to finally end the war. The ceasefire was extended on April 21.
During this time, representatives of Iran and the US held several rounds of negotiations in the Pakistani capital, but they did not yield any results.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, yesterday, April 30, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei issued a statement in which he stated that Tehran intends to introduce a new legal framework and system for managing the Strait of Hormuz. He also stated that the United States has no future in the Middle East.
As we will recall, also yesterday, Axios reported that US President Donald Trump should be offered options for further action against Iran, which include a ground operation and strikes on critical infrastructure.
