No more than 2 months on front line: Syrskyi signs order on rotations

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has signed an order mandating the rotation of service members carrying out duties on the front lines. According to the order, service on the front lines should not exceed two months.

Syrskyi announced this on his Telegram channel.

"In order to preserve the lives and health of servicemen performing duties both on the front lines and in the rear, I have signed an order regarding the mandatory rotation of servicemen performing duties on the front lines," he wrote.

According to him, commanders must ensure that servicemen remain in their positions for up to two months, followed by a mandatory replacement (rotation), which must be carried out within one month.

"The rotations of our soldiers must be planned in advance, taking into account the situation, the nature of combat operations, and available forces and resources," the Commander-in-Chief noted.

The order also sets out mandatory requirements:

• medical examinations and time off for military personnel who have completed combat missions;
• timely provision (replenishment of supplies) of ammunition and food for service members performing combat (special) tasks at their positions.

According to Syrskyi, compliance with the order’s requirements will be strictly monitored. Violations will result in “inevitable liability in accordance with current legislation and the statutes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

The order is mandatory for all units performing combat missions on the front lines.

As a reminder, earlier Syrskyi ordered an inspection of supplies for soldiers fighting on the front lines.
