US Army worked out experience of Ukrainian operation "Spiderweb" at exercises in Florida - media
At an air base in Florida, the American military has completed large-scale Operation Clear Horizon exercises, the scenario of which was based on the experience of the modern war in Ukraine. This is reported by the Defense One publication.
The maneuvers were based on the successful Ukrainian special operation "Spiderweb", aimed at defeating russian strategic aviation. The exercise involved soldiers from the 10th Special Forces Group, who recreated real combat conditions and tested new technological approaches to conducting remote warfare.
During the training, special attention was paid to the use of drones and the introduction of innovative control methods. American operators first practiced the coordination of drones via LTE networks and fiber-optic communication, which allowed them to control the devices at a distance of hundreds of kilometers from the target. In addition to commercial models, the military used high-tech systems capable of operating effectively in conditions of intense electronic warfare. Brigadier General Matt Ross emphasized that these maneuvers helped to clearly define priorities for the development of future defense capabilities of the US Army.
Following the results of the operation, the Pentagon emphasized the importance of integrating electronic warfare and radars into a single system of protection against drones. The American command also concluded that it is critical to develop its own long-range drones. Such devices should be able to autonomously strike strategic objects deep behind enemy lines, including logistical hubs, command posts, and air defense systems. The success of Ukrainian combat methods has become a key factor in the US's review of its approaches to equipping and training its special forces.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, a postage stamp was presented in Ukraine in honor of the SSU's special operation "Spiderweb". On June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a unique special operation, as a result of which four strategic air bases in russia were hit.
