The IDF and Hezbollah militants continued to exchange blows after US President Donald Trump announced a three-week extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.

This was reported by the portal of the American broadcaster CNN.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that it had struck Hezbollah rocket launchers in the southern Lebanese cities of Yater and Kafra. According to the Israeli military, these facilities "posed a threat to IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians."

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least six people were killed and two others were injured as a result of Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon.

For its part, Hezbollah said that it had attacked an Israeli armored personnel carrier in Ramia in southern Lebanon.

In a statement, the militants said the strike was a "response" to Israel's destruction of homes in the south of the country, which the group said was a "violation of the ceasefire."

Earlier, Trump announced the extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah for three weeks. He made the announcement following a meeting with Lebanese and Israeli officials in the Oval Office.

According to the US President, a meeting was held at the White House with the participation of Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa, and senior Israeli and Lebanese officials.
