Russian drones and bad weather cut off power supply to Ukrainians in 13 regions - Ukrenergo

As a result of russian drone attacks on the morning of April 24, power outages have affected consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Odesa Regions. Where safety conditions currently permit, emergency repair work is already underway, according to Ukrenergo.

Consumption

Electricity consumption is trending upward. The reason is the continued cold weather across Ukraine, as well as high cloud cover in most regions.

"The need for energy conservation remains today. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.," energy officials urge.

Consequences of the bad weather

Due to strong gusts of wind, more than 100 settlements in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, and Mykolaiv Regions have been completely or partially left without power. Repair crews from the regional power companies are already working to restore the damaged lines.

As a reminder, windy but mostly dry weather is expected in Ukraine on April 24—rain is expected only in the eastern regions.
