More than half of all weapons at front made in Ukraine - Svyrydenko

More than half of the weapons currently used by the Defense Forces at the front line are made in Ukraine. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko has announced this.

Domestic enterprises provide the army with unmanned systems, artillery and communications equipment. According to her, the defense industry today unites more than 900 companies and more than 300,000 specialists.

"Ukrainian weapon makers are a community of brave entrepreneurs who create unique technologies in partnership with the Defense Forces," the Prime Minister emphasized.

She also added that to accelerate rearmament, the Cabinet of Ministers allowed the Ministry of Defense to purchase innovative models for testing in real combat conditions, which will help introduce "systematic collection of feedback from the military on effectiveness."

The government also approved a policy for managing intellectual property rights in the defense industry. As Svyrydenko explained, the purpose of this decision is "to protect the rights to defense technologies created by public sector enterprises or acquired as part of defense procurement," which will establish transparent rules of the game for the state and private developers.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Merz said that due to a significant technological leap and the emergence of its own long-range developments, Ukraine no longer has an urgent need to receive German Taurus cruise missiles.
