Innovative private air defense system launched in Ukraine - Defense Ministry adviser
A fragment of a private innovative air defense system based on remotely controlled machine guns has been launched in Ukraine. Advisor to the Minister of Defense Serhii Beskrestnov (Flash) announced this on his Telegram channel on Sunday, April 12.
Beskrestnov noted that the private project appeared earlier than the state one, as business always acts faster due to a minimum of approvals and bureaucracy. The journalists were shown how this innovative system works and how it is managed.
"And, of course, the comments under the publications are just flooded: "Why are you showing this?" Such private remote-controlled turrets with M2 machine guns operate at a distance of up to 2 kilometers. Their task is to cover critical infrastructure. Any business can order private air defense services," the Defense Ministry advisor emphasized.
According to him, other companies can replicate and implement similar ideas.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 30, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said that the first group of air defense systems prepared by one of the companies participating in the pilot project is already working and shooting down enemy targets.
