Russia attacks Naftogaz facilities in Poltava and Sumy Regions for two consecutive days
For two consecutive days, russian troops have been purposefully attacking the oil and gas infrastructure of the Naftogaz group.
This is outlined in the group's statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of April 5, a gas production facility in the Poltava Region, which had already been under fire the day before, was again attacked by drones.
Another oil and gas facility in the Sumy Region was also hit.
"A fire broke out at the scene. Units of the State Emergency Service were involved in the liquidation. Fortunately, people were in shelters - none of the employees were injured," said Serhii Koretskyi, chairman of the board of the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company.
He added that the company's specialists and all relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attacks.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, since the beginning of this year alone, russia has attacked the infrastructure of the Naftogaz group about 40 times.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, russia has carried out 401 attacks on Naftogaz infrastructure, with a record number recorded in 2025, namely 229 attacks - more than in the previous three years together.
