Electricity imports in March 2026 down 25%

In March, compared to February, Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 25% to 942,000 MWh.

This is announced by the ExPro publication, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The report states that the largest share in imports continues to be Hungary - 48%, in second place - Romania, 20%.

Compared to March 2025, electricity imports to Ukraine increased 3.4 times.

It is noted that in March 2026, Ukraine resumed electricity exports after a break of several months.

In total, 30,200 MWh were exported during this month - most of all to Moldova, 47.5%.

Compared to March 2025, exports fell by 61%.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in February, compared to January, Ukraine increased electricity imports by 41% to record volumes of electricity imports - 1.26 million MWh.

On March 5, Ukraine resumed electricity exports at certain hours of the day at a minimum level and exclusively with a surplus in the energy system.

In January-February 2026, Ukraine did not export electricity.
