Earthquake of magnitude 3.2 occurred in Poltava Region

On the evening of March 28, residents of the Poltava district could feel weak tremors caused by an earthquake of magnitude 3.2. This was stated in a message from the Main Center for Special Control at 07:50 pm Kyiv time.

The epicenter of the phenomenon was located within the Machukhiv territorial community at a depth of about 8 kilometers.

Despite the recorded vibrations, seismologists classify this earthquake as "barely noticeable". Usually such tremors are noticed only by people who are at rest indoors, especially on the upper floors of high-rise buildings. In open areas or while moving, such vibrations usually go unnoticed.

According to official data, the coordinates of the epicenter were 49.53° north latitude and 34.41° east longitude. Experts emphasize that the magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale does not pose a direct threat to capital structures or critical infrastructure. At this time, emergency services have not received information about any destruction, damage to residential buildings or casualties among the local population. The situation in the region remains stable and is being monitored by the relevant control services.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 was recorded in the Sea of ​​Azov, which was also felt 78 km from the temporarily occupied Kerch, as well as in Mariupol, Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.

On January 20, an earthquake occurred in the Zakarpattia Region, the epicenter of which was located near the city of Mukachevo.
