Drones hit Europe's largest fertilizer producer: fire breaks out in Cherepovets

 

A drone attack in Cherepovets, Vologda Oblast, caused a fire at the Apatit plant, Europe's largest producer of phosphate fertilizers.

This was reported by russian media.

It is noted that the drones hit the production facilities of the enterprise, which is part of the PhosAgro chemical cluster. The plant specializes in the production of phosphate fertilizers, as well as phosphoric and sulfuric acids, and is one of the leaders in the russian federation in the production of NPK fertilizers.

"Cherepovets. Locals report that Apatit JSC (Cherepovets chemical cluster of PhosAgro group) was attacked," the messages under the video from the scene read.

Eyewitnesses also describe the scale of the fire.

"Cherepovets, the situation, so you understand, there shouldn't be a fire there, but everything is burning. Local residents are running somewhere," they write on social networks.

In addition, according to information from public forums, that same night a fire was also recorded in the area of ​​the Vysotsk port in Vyborg.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of March 24-25, drones again attacked the Ust-Luga port. The strikes led to a fire in the tanks at the oil pumping terminal. The fire is still ongoing.
