Prime Minister Kristersson: Sweden ready to help repair Druzhba oil pipeline if it facilitates allocation of funds for Ukraine
Sweden is ready to join the restoration of the Druzhba oil pipeline, which supplies oil to Hungary, among others, if it helps unblock financial assistance for Ukraine. Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson reported this on his X-account on Sunday, March 22.
Kristersson noted that the European Union summit failed to change the position of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who refuses to provide assistance to Ukraine. According to him, the criticism of Hungary was very harsh, so the country will not become "puppets in Orbán's election campaign."
"The European Commission has now offered Ukraine assistance in repairing the oil pipeline that supplies oil, in particular, to Hungary, but which Russia destroyed. Sweden, through the Civil Defense Agency, has special specialists, and we are ready to join and help if it will facilitate the allocation of funds for Ukraine," the Swedish Prime Minister emphasized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 21, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stood up for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who is blocking a EUR 90 billion reparations loan to Ukraine approved by the European Union.
