Ukraine receives new Patriot missiles
Germany has delivered a new batch of PAC-3 missiles to Ukraine for the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system. The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported this.
It is noted that the missiles will strengthen our air defense against the most complex air threats: ballistic and hypersonic missiles.
"PAC-3 destroys the target not with fragments, but with a direct hit using hit-to-kill technology. Destruction of the warhead in the air reduces risks to cities and critical infrastructure," the report says.
PAC-3 characteristics
The missile develops a speed of up to 6,170 km/h, has an active radar homing head and is able to sharply change the trajectory to intercept maneuvering targets.
One Patriot launcher can accommodate up to 16 PAC-3 missiles, that is, it can destroy 16 targets without reloading.
"Strengthening air defense is the first point of Ukraine's War Plan. We aim to identify 100% of air threats and intercept at least 95% of missiles and drones. We are consistently moving towards this indicator," the Ministry of Defense added.
Recall that it was previously reported that Germany has assembled about 30 Patriot interceptor missiles for Ukraine.
