Due to poor planning, Defense Ministry spent UAH 50 billion on shells, but army still has shortage - Butusov
A journalist and now the commander of the unmanned systems platoon in the Khartia brigade, Yurii Butusov, emphasized that artillery is no less important means on the battlefield, and is irreplaceable.
This is reported by the Censor.NET website.
"We have a shortage of artillery shells, no matter what anyone says. We don't have enough guns, especially 155-mm. We had a shameful situation when in 2024 the Pavlohrad Chemical Plant received an order for UAH 50 billion to organize the production of many types of shells," - Butusov noted.
Butusov has no questions for the plant's employees, but they had neither competence, nor technological lines, nor gunpowder, nor components, nor detonators in the required quantity.
"And they didn't do a miracle. As a result, the state spent a lot of money and didn't get the ammunition it wanted. And our money was stuck for a year," he said.
