Zelenskyy threatens Orban with Armed Forces due to Hungary blocking EUR 90 billion for Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that in the event of blocking the first tranche of financial aid to Ukraine, which Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban spoke about, the Armed Forces will receive his address to speak "in their own language". The head of state said this during a briefing on Thursday, March 5.
Zelenskyy said that it is necessary to make a down payment for Rafale and Gripen fighters from European partners, so Ukraine needs a loan from the EU. According to him, only one person is blocking the approval of the aid, and "it's no secret".
"We hope that one person in the European Union will not block EUR 90 billion or the first tranche of EUR 90 billion, and Ukrainian soldiers will have weapons. Otherwise, we will give the address of this person to our Armed Forces, our guys, and let them call him and communicate with him in their own language," Zelenskyy said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 3, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban appealed to the European Commission with a demand to influence Ukraine to resume oil transit, which was stopped at the end of January due to damage to the infrastructure as a result of russian shelling.
