Two drones hit US embassy in Riyadh - Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry

The Saudi Defense Ministry has confirmed that the US embassy in Riyadh was attacked by two drones, which caused a fire.

"According to preliminary assessments, the US embassy in Riyadh was attacked by two drones, which caused a small fire and minor material damage to the building," the message of Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry on the social network X reads.

As reported by The Guardian, early on the morning of March 3, a loud explosion was heard near the embassy and flames were visible. Black smoke was visible over Riyadh's diplomatic quarter, where foreign missions are located.

It is noted that there were no reports of casualties, since the building was empty in the morning hours.
