US uses Ukraine's 'cheap strike drone' tactics for first time during Operation Epic Fury - Politico

On February 28, as part of Operation Epic Fury against Iranian targets, the US military used "low-cost one-way attack drones in combat" for the first time.

According to media reports, during this operation, the United States used the tactics of using drones, which Ukraine began to implement in 2022 during the repulsion of the russian invasion.

The US Central Command has previously reported that the strikes on Iran were carried out with precision munitions launched from the air, land and sea, as well as with disposable drones.

According to Politico, Ukraine was the first country to use this model of drone warfare in 2022. The publication writes that this approach was later adopted by russia, which influenced the change in the tactics of warfare.

What is known about the US operation against Iran?

On February 28, the Israeli army launched strikes against Iran; later it was reported that this was a joint operation with the United States. Israel calls it "Roaring Lion," the US calls it "Epic Fury." Donald Trump has been talking about the possibility of strikes on Iran for the past month.

In response, Iran struck at American bases in the Persian Gulf countries - Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE - and attacked Israel with ballistic missiles.

After that, Trump issued an extremely tough warning to Tehran, threatening to strike with unprecedented force in case of further escalation and implementation of new attacks. He announced this in a post on Truth Social.
